For adult study: "The Bread of Life"

Children will use a one page handout that includes a coloring picture. The story summary and questions were written in a way that makes it possible to use a New Testament reference in place of the Urantia reference. A selected chapter from a 1932 book, titled Treasure-House of the Living Religions, supports a spiritual theme that is found within the story.

Paper 153:0-3
The Urantia Book

The food which endures to everlasting life

Students may read Paper 153:2.8 or all of sections 0-3
The people looked for Jesus after he fed a crowd of five thousand with a small amount of bread and fishes. At last, they found him in Capernaum and heard him speak in the synagogue about the bread from heaven. He said this bread comes down from the Father and gives eternal life to his children on earth. Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life.” But the people were bewildered. They said, “Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know?”
Discussion Questions

When the people searched for Jesus, what were they hoping for? The bread of life is different from the bread we eat to nourish our bodies. The bread of life nourishes our souls. What is the soul? Jesus helps our souls to grow and flourish.

Into its natural form; obtains perfection,
