Week 12 of Year 1 "Peter's Confession"

Menu

For adult study: "Peter's Confession"

The story summary and questions were written in a way that makes it possible to use a New Testament reference in place of the Urantia reference. A selected chapter from a 1932 book, Treasure-House of the Living Religions, supports a spiritual theme that is found within the story.
Children will use a one page handout that includes a coloring picture.

Paper 157:3
The Urantia Book

But who do you say that I am?

Students may read Paper 157:3.3-6 or entire section

Jesus led the twelve disciples north toward Mount Hermon. As they neared the city of Caesarea-Philippi, Jesus stopped and asked his disciples an important question: “Who do men say that I am?” The disciples said people thought he might be John the Baptist or perhaps one of the prophets like Elijah or Jeremiah. Jesus then asked, “But who do you say that I am?” To this momentous question Peter declared, “You are the Deliverer, the Son of the living God.”

Discussion Questions

From the beginning of his ministry, Jesus was known as the Son of Man. But now, he would be known as the Son of God. How does it help us to know Jesus as God’s Son? How can we know what is true and what is not true?
