Call to Worship:

L: Come to worship. Step into the unknown possibility that is here in this place with all of our questions.

P: We step into the unknown because we have questions and it is here that we feel safe to ask what we long to know.

L: We come together to find a deeper understanding of God’s love.

P: We come to find ourselves changed and restored.

Opening Prayer:

God of night and of day, we dare to venture out into the unknown. Will you guide us? We come to be led and encouraged. We come to find answers to questions we didn’t even know we had. We come to find you, steadfast and true. Amen.

Time of Quiet Confession:
Where did you not do love this week?

L: Beloved, we are held here with all that we are and all we are feeling. God will instruct us and teach us how to be more loving. Steadfast love surrounds us.

Affirmation of Faith:

L: Look to the hills. From where does our help come?

Our help comes for God, who made heaven and Earth; who sustains the universe, keeping the sun in place and the moon on track; who provides sunshine and shade to nurture and protect life, day and night.

Our help come from God, who showed such immense love for us in the person of Jesus, who came not to judge or condemn anyone but to give eternal life.

Our help comes from God, whose Spirit is always by our side; whose presence is like the wind, powerful, unpredictable, yet personal, stirring us into new possibilities and bringing about new birth.

Hymn: "Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise"
Lyrics by Walter Chalmers Smith (1824-1908)

Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
Most blessèd, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
Almighty, victorious, thy great Name we praise.

Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
Nor wanting, nor wasting, thou rulest in might;
Thy justice like mountains high soaring above
Thy clouds which are fountains of goodness and love.

To all life thou givest—to both great and small;
In all life thou livest, the true life of all;
We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
And wither and perish—but nought changeth thee.

Great Father of glory, pure Father of light,
Thine angels adore thee, all veiling their sight;
All laud we would render: O help us to see
’Tis only the splendour of light hideth thee.

Benediction Song: “Go My Children, with My Blessing”

Go, my children, with my blessing, Never alone.
Waking, sleeping, I am with you; You are my own.
In my love's baptismal river
I have made you mine forever.
Go, my children, with my blessing - You are my own.

Go, my children, fed and nourished, Closer to me;
Grow in love and love by serving, Joyful and free.
Here my Spirit's power filled you;
Here his tender comfort stilled you.
Go, my children, fed and nourished, Joyful and free.
